No. Winners are chosen only on their public record. Claiming keeps your details right, which helps people reach you, but it adds nothing to the selection.

Can I put the award on my website?
Yes. Every winner page links to a free award badge with copy-paste code. It links back to your winner page and is removed if the award ends.
